For this Makena Place project, our sources of inspiration was driven by the clients amazing collection of art glass, colorful paintings, her love of interesting fabrics coupled with dimensional metal sculpture, custom exotic wood furnishings and glass mosaic tile. The backdrop for this array of elements is set against a residence that juts out to the ocean giving the appearance that a swim in the pool could lead directly into the ocean. The upholstery in main living areas became the white canvas to let the collections and colors take center stage. The swimming pool features a mosaic custom tile wave pattern made in Italy and shimmers when sunlight glances off the opalescent tile. Bold and edgy design is not for the faint of heart.
